Duties and Responsibilities: psychiatrist is one of the oldest medical specialty areas. The professional organization known as the american psychiatric Association has been in existence for 150 years. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor that specializes in the treatment of mental disorders.

Education: As undergraduate students, many future psychiatrists earn a bachelor's degree in biology or psychology. These 4-year degree programs provide the basis for future studies in medical areas. Students planning to enter graduate medical programs should strive for a high GPA. Common courses including biology,physics, chemistry, advanced mathematics.

Duties and Responsibilities; Psychiatric technicians and aides care for people who have mental illness and development disabilities. Technicians typically provide therapeutic care. Aides help patients in their daily activities.
Salary: $29,671
Education: Psychiatric technicians typically need post secondary education, and aides need at least a high school diploma. Technicians and aides get on-the-job training.

                                                                       Pharmacist
Duties and Responsibilities: Pharmacist compound or prepare, prescriptions written by physicians, dentist, and other practitioners. They review these prescription to validate their accuracy and then prepare the medication.  This can involve weighing, measuring, and mixing drugs.  Once the compounds are prepared, pharmacists then prepare the medication. 
Salary: $33,000- $51,000 Educational Requirements:  Students should take the most challenging high school classes (including AP or IB) available in English, science, and math. All pharmacist must graduate from a college of pharmacy. Most pharmacy schools require applicants to take the pharmacy college admission test and some require  up to two years of pre-pharmacy education.
